Federal Transnational Cooperation Programme
With the Federal Transnational Cooperation Programme, the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) supports Interreg B projects with main topics of special Federal Government interest, which contribute to a sustainable and integrated spatial development.
The Programme is divided up into three funding categories: support of the preparation of applications, participation in the cofinancing of EU funds and financing of additional measures for Interreg B projects.
In addition to financial support, the projects are run within a major strategic and political context. This is why large attention for important territorial cooperation issues is created at the national and European level. Only transnational Interreg projects from the six programme areas with German participation – Alpine Space, Baltic Sea Region, Central Europe, Danube Region, North Sea Region and North-West Europe – are supported. The Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) supports the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) in carrying out the Programme. The cooperation partners are supported in raising national cofinancing, in qualifying project applications and in doing effective public relations work.
The Federal Transnational Cooperation Programme is in particular looking for applications on the following main topics:
The thematic focus of the Federal Transnational Cooperation Programme is based on the Territorial Agenda of the EU 2030 with the overarching objectives “A just Europe“ and “A Green Europe“. They concentrate on reducing regional disparities and creating sustainable future prospects. The Programme also contributes to the implementation of the Concepts for Spatial Development in Germany.
